Location: OKC, OK | I have a 1959 DeSoto and am thinking about replacing the rear end with one without tapered axles. Could anybody inform me as to what rear end might work. |

Welcome to the board.
This is discussed often, the best fit is a rear end from a '65-'69 C-body (Chrysler, Dodge Monaco/Polara or a Plymouth Fury). These rears have near the same spring pad width, pinion angle and overall width (3/4" wider). |

Location: OKC, OK | I have found the rear end assembly from a 1971 Plymouth Fury. Would this work in my 1959 Desoto without too many modifications? |

A couple of inches wider than original but it'll work. |
