FwdLk56's Third Account Posts: 738 Location: Midwest USA | i've had a lot of luck with "Peg Trucking" - http://www.pegtrucking.com/ they might not reply to e-mails right away, but most use phone anyway... i'm actually "in-process" of them delivering me a '61 Studebaker Hawk

I am going to be needing a hauler soon. i myself have not, not until the '61 Hawk in-process haul... Peg Trucking is located in Wisconsin - which seems more "local" to the guy asking the question (Ohio) and myself (Indiana)... car hauling has a "mileage" variable in the cost equation - reduce the miles, reduce the cost... where is this Leo located, Cali? i do "know of" people that have used Peg Trucking in the past (all Studebaker owners, Peg advertises in "Turning Wheels", a 'Studebaker Drivers Club' magazine subscription)...

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5009 | Avrora, its a Ukrainian guy with a semi hauler, I ship projects with him, can't be beat for price. Although last time he took my 1967 GTO body off, he had a brand new Shelby Cobra GT500 custom to unload so its obvious he can carry the nice stuff(insured and all). I work with his schedule, its kind of like a truck going back and forth across the country, just have to catch him when he is going or coming. I think he is mostly hauling cars now. http://quicktransportsolutions.com/truckingcompany/massasschuetts/a... if that number doesn't work, try 413-340-0005, great guy

Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | That car Leo was taking to New York was for me, a '58 Olds from Missouri, and next week he's bringing me a '79 Newport from Denver. These are the 7th and 8th cars he's brought me over the last 10 yrs, from all over the US. He's excellent, but always very busy. Edited by firedome 2015-05-02 2:19 PM

Veteran Posts: 295 Location: Tallapoosa, GA | Stay away from American Auto Transport. They quoted me a price, I signed a contract (fortunately not binding until a driver is assigned), but when they did find one, they tried to jack up the price by $200 at the last minute. When I contacted Alan, and asked why, the only excuse he could come up with was that the car had no brakes....... a fact I disclosed to them in my very first conversation. Not even going to give them an opportunity to jerk me around any further......cancelled my contract, going with Leo. It may take a while, but at least the car will be cared for and not subjected to the handling of careless people.
