What are you using as floorpan sealant? I've seen some say bedliner sealer. I've got some minor surface rust to take care of. Have Por-15 and KBS for that. Then I'll need to reseal. Ideas?

put down the por-15 with bedliner over top . it'll seal out anything you can throw at it ---------------------------------------------------later

How clean is what your trying to seal? Are you gonna just spot in the areas with surface rust or seal the whole floor?
I've found that por15 has issues with sticking to metal that's clean. We used it on my Seneca floorpans and trunk, but since the floor was solid(only had surface rust in a few spots)the por15 got real thin and looked funny, like it was being repelled by the clean metal. Then chipped of after a year. It still held were there was surface rust, but came off with minimal effort every where else. We also had an issue with it on a 56 Lincoln frame we redid. We cleaned the frame up so good, there wasn't anything for it to bite into, it also came off. I would recommend it only if what your doing has enough rust for it to adhear, otherwise you'll just be redoing it a few years down the road.
Have you thought about an epoxy sealer after you clean up your surface rust. They can be topcoated after they set and scuffed.
I've used Bedliner with success also, works good but I use it for inside fenders in place of undercoating.

we also use majik agracultural enamels with a hardening catalist from tractor supply. Colors are limited to agro colors but they also have gloss black and a flat black. Used it on frames and floorpans for rockcrawlers. It's unbelievable as far as strength and easy to apply, just use an etching primer, wax and grease remover, then apply with a foam brush, it levels out and looks good. About 25 bucks a gallon + around ten bucks for the hardner.

hope I didn't ramble to much for ya-Joe

i also used the majik from tractor supply to do all of the underneath , then undercoated everything . if you give the clean areas of metal roughness , por-15 will stay put----------------------------------------later

POR and KBS require use of THEIR own water based prep beforehand from memory.

Thinners and prepsol/ wax and grease remover both leave a residue that interferes with adhesion....

I use Acetone on metal and their product on previously painted surfaces.

Also temperature is critical.... too cold and it won't stick !

Too smooth is also no good.  Scuff it up.  Self levelling properties will hide the sandpaper marks usually.
