First off I understand the difference between B blocks and RB blocks and I know that intakes for each are not compatible but if you have the rare 1959-1960 383 it is an "RB " block. Long story short was panicking cause my new weiand intake did not fit my 383 because the weiand intake I bought was based on a B block 383. Long story short I discovered that a 440 intake shown below fits my RB 383

Has anyone else done this setup? I know there arent many early 383's out there anymore.

I would check port alignment/match.

just posted that in another thread, most "early" 383 are B's not RB's. ONLY chrysler (not plymouth, dodge or desoto) used the RB 383 and 59/60 US (not canada) only.

Sorry I should have said only Chrysler, so I have a 1960 Chrysler Windsor with an RB 383, everything should be fine right? My car is at the shop and this is the setup they found to work. So it is correct that U.S. Built chryslers from 59-60 were RB 383's right ?

As I understand it from this below

Will this setup work in my situation? Or is there a better intake to fit my RB 383 that have a 4 barrel setup? I don't want to use my stock intake cause it's a 2 barrel

My engine is a 1960 Chrysler 383 with a cam and 10:1 compression, the intake manifold needs to fit the early 383 engine built 59-60. The distance across the valley (base of the head) should be 8 3/4". The later 383's distance across the valley is 7 3/4". As well the carburetor flange needs to be "square bore"let me know.

Thanks

This 440 intake base measures 8 3/4 across and matches up. Pictured below

i do not think anyone here is surprised that a RB intake fits a RB engine, anyway regarding your question, i believe that intake is overkill. alright its a dual plane but seems to be high rise with huge runners and seems to be more of a hp/rpm intake. for a rb 383 i would use something smaller, like a mp dual plane m1, which is close to stock but aluminum.

should be P5153525 but maybe this was a misinformation. i was under the impression its like the low deck dual plane m1 which is a slightly improved stock manifold but the RB m1 dual plane looks pretty wild and high rise too.

Like Sid said, only issue with installing on an early motor might be port match.

Cool no problem, at the end of the day, whether it's overkill, just want to know if it will work, my 383 isn't stock it's been beefed up

An RB is an RB. The intake manifold doesn't know what the displacement is. Buy what ever fits a 413-440.
