Just got my car back from having the power seat worked on; the car was 'down' for about 1.5
months....for new clear plastic seat covers installed, too.

Got the car back, today, but find that the TEMP gauge is non-operational
and ALL of the turn signals are non-operational.

The temperature gauge should get its 'juice' off of this connection, right?

What electrical (NON-)connection would kill all of the turn signal's circuitry???

That connection does not supply the juice, it grounds it out thru a variable resistor which is what makes the gauge move to different spots with changes in temperature. The juice comes in on the "other side" of the gauge, presumably from the constant voltage regulator output. If turn signals and temp went out at the same time I would suspect a break in whatever "hot wire" supplies both the turn signals and the constant voltage regulator. Not sure where the CVR is, on some cars it's built into either the temp guage or the gas gauge, on others it's a little metal can on the back of the instrument panel somewhere.

Neil, try cleaning that terminal and connection with a scotch brite pad. If no luck, very momentarily touch the wire terminal to ground to see if the needle moves at all.

I don't think Chrysler Corp used voltage limiters until 59. May have been built into one of the gauges but I don't think so.

Turn signals---- just guess work. I'll check my harness board tomorrow and get back to you.

BTW, is the power seat working?

make sure there isn't a wire pulled loose from ignition switch. Some cars also had a junction box up under the dash for accessory and ignition switched circuits. It's possible it came loose from there, and if they hooked the electric seat into that, it's probably now melted and falling apart.

Power for turn signals and gauges comes from the acc terminal(black wire) on the ignition switch. If the problem was there none of the gauges and several other things wouldn't work. Power then goes through the flasher and then to the turn signal switch. Try another flasher first.

Well, the non-op turn signals was the simple result from my shop's having inadvertently disconnected
the wire connection to the (custom made) under-dash tiny-speaker that I had wired into the
turn signals, to increase their operational sound.

Easy Peasy, Polybun gets the prize, there....

I removed the dashboard's engine-temperature-gauge 'Sending unit' (see above), but didn't have time, today,
to replace it...to see if it was 'bad', or not

Tomorrow's another day!

Ehhhhh (not: "Aye")...

The Power seat's (continuing-) NON-OP will be shown/discussed over on its own thread...
