Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Highlighted this source/site, for easy future reference: http://pwrbrake.com/Locations.html So, no lame-excuses for not having a source for the repair or servicing of pre-1957 MoPar power brake systems. Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | Well Neil I spent more getting mine rebuilt 3 times over 3 years, then I spent converting mine to AAJ and a modern booster and MC. The Booster and the MC cost me $150, and they are brand new, not rebuilt. That is less than the shipping to CA for all the times I redid the original. I did not use this company and hopefully they are better than who I used.

Expert Posts: 4043 Location: Connecticut | Just spoke to them and they will do the one-year-only 55 power brake and master cylinder assemblies. Quoted at $365 for the rebuild. Ron

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Well; "Do it once (at P.B.E.) and do it right" (....according to Kanter's advertising slogan). I paid $600bux, to Lares Corp., many YEARS ago, to overhaul Horrie's P.S. gearbox. That money was well spent, and P.B.E. appears to be similarly competent. You sometimes do 'get' what you pay for. You want originality, and attention to detail? Step up to the counter, son. This is why having 1-2 collector cars allows you to spend-the-money, instead of cutting-corners on 'restoration' work, which may be lying around your place, in pieces. ("Nothing's too good, for my baby"!....since 1980, in Horrie's case)....that's a lot of time, to devote to ONE car. If you want to 'hot-rod' your ride; go nuts on it....but, style points, and return-on-investment are hard to come by, with hot rod creations. It's nice to know that P.B.E. exists, regardless whether you take advantage of their services! Edited by d500neil 2015-04-15 8:45 PM

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | No brag; just fact: I've made arrangement to have H.'s clear plastic seat covers be replaced, just "because" they are showing their age....this will be the third set of clear-covers that he has worn, over about 25 years' time.

Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | Well I used Karps, as I said, 3 times. At the time it was THE vendor to go to for the 55 rebuild. This vendor was never mentioned on the FL site when I asked for experienced input on the choice. I am not afraid to spend money to do something right. But at the time, it didn't seem like I could get this rebuild done right. BTW. Have a 55 master Cylinder and booster setup for sale cheap if your interested. MC is ok.. Booster is bad. Oh and Add $100 for shipping there and back for that rebuild... Edited by Beltran 2015-04-15 9:34 PM
