Decided I would buy her after a little soul searching. Has a decent history, not an original but it is a nice finish. My "tentative" plan is to put a 68 383 I already have in my shop into her and add my correct 350 dual quad setup. Have the trans conversion parts and this is a relatively easy job. Of course, she is a sweet runner with the factory power pack 301 so who knows. Can't resist the 57 or 58 Plymouth 2 dr HT's! That is why I sold the wagon cheap, to make room quickly!

Nice car; what color(s) was/were it, originally.

Why not soup-up the OEM 301?

You could have some headers be made for it, too; real eye candy.

Think about keeping the 301. My 57 Plymouth has a 301 and air cooled Powerflite. And I love the way it behaves. Course, if you go 383, use a 727, right? Not sure about "trans conversion," but no sense in using the old trans with a later big block.

Gotta love that '57 face. Nothing wrong with a 301. Its not going to be used as a drag car.

Congrats on buying her, I know this car it belonged to Alex in LA before he sold her to Roman in Orange county. Its a nice car you wont be dissapointed. This car had been at the Mopar spring fling in Van nuys in recent years, well again congrats!

Clif, in addition to 'building' the 301 (camshaft/carbs/headers/worked heads), you should have its distributor be re-curved
and an appropriate vacuum advance be installed on it, because its OEM distributor-system will be very conservatively
designed, and there is a lot of 'free' HP that is being restricted, right now, inside your dissie.

What Autolite P/N does your dissie have?
