Just picked up a restorable desert find with the following data plate. It has original paint (white and maroon), factory air, P Steering, P seat, P windows. It's a two door hardtop. Could someone decode the data plate? Thanks.

Best guess making out the stampings: Fireflite Sportsman 2-dr hardtop, Frost white roof and lower color sweep, Muscatel maroon main. Auto 3-speed torqueflite trans, charcoal gray "Westminster tweed" and white vinyl interior, heater, whitewalls, 5-button radio, padded dash, dual exhaust, clock, windshield washer, rear speaker, hand brake light, outside rearview mirror, prismatic mirror, visor vanity mirror, power seats, manual brakes, factory AC, power windows, roof moldings (not shown under RM but standard on Sportsman models), no stone shields, car was undercoated. No bumper guards. I can't make out the rest for sure as the tag is not too clear, and we don't know what the A-B-C means. The SCH and SEQ can't be directly coded to a particular date of manufacture like with later years and other makes.

What is the item screwed down next to that cowl tag? Some other kind of tag?

Oval silver tag present by data tag, without apparent writing. Just picked up car and meant to look at it closer. Thanks for decoding. Indeed, for a loaded coupe, no power brake unit present. How many do you have registered?

I have 1178 entries in my 1957 DeSoto database. Thanks for additional info, too. I have never seen a silver tag next to the cowl plate like that, so I have no idea what it is.
