Expert Posts: 2490 Location: Kansas City, KS | great idea but that $1200+ per wheel price is a bit hard to swallow. saw similar concept on one of the latest Overhaulin' episodes but they didn't name the brand. Expert 5K+ Posts: 8445 Location: Perth Australia | I like the idea though But how do they get the solid spacer ring onto the rim, and I assume its sealed with an o ring, so how do they stop it from flexing out the sides Tried the web site, came up as unavailable?

The white ring is not an extended lip on the outer tire side. It's on the under (face) side going in towards the lug nuts. These are 20 inch wheels that will fit a 15 inch wheel cover. 20in wheel - 15in wheel cover = 5in leftover space, 5in /2 = 2 1/2in (fake) white walls

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8948 Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | the white ring is actually the outside edge of the rim , from the white outside edge to the machined round over bare aluminum edge . the white is not a whitewall insert . it's a painted white part of the wheel . foose used these on a build i saw not long ago . might even be his design ----------------------------later

Expert Posts: 2519 Location: central Illinois | BFGoodrich makes a P225/70R14 with a calculated diameter of 26.4 That's about as close as you're going to get with 14" tires. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=225%2F&ra... http://www.csgnetwork.com/tiresizescalc.html http://www.crawlpedia.com/tire_size_converter.htm

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | Discount has 215/75-14's that are white sidewall. About the same diameter as the BFGs but slightly narrower. Less than half the price per tire of the BFGs which are raised white letter. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/searchTiresBySize.do?fl=&sortBy=pr...

Extreme Veteran Posts: 480 Location: The Great Northwest | Lucas offers a Goodyear Custom Super Cushion 8.00 x 14 with a 2 1/4" bias ply whitewall that is appropriate for my 61 NYer (should be 8.50) that has the original height of 28.67 inches. Using a radial tire that has a height of 26.4 just doesn't work for me. Lester offers a Lester whitewall in a 9.00 and 9.50 bias six ply tire but it is about 29.5 inches tall which seems too tall and heavy. Goodyear Custom Super Cushion bias tires are available just not in an 8.50 for the large cars or 9.00 for station wagons. Maybe someday Diamondback will actually produce the Auburn II radial in a 14" version they have been talking about for close to two years. Maybe someday Coker will make a tire that is better than the crappy ones I have gotten from them in the past. For now, I'm one of those dinosaurs that are going with the Goodyear look for the 61.
