Nice, I like it, though the upholstery fabric is incorrect and a little garish for a big Imp! The master window switch looks to be from a mid-late 60s Mopar. The windshield looks to be off a 61 Imperial or later, as it doesn't seem to have the bubble top. I could live with this car in my garage!

For $39K....would you be satisfied to learn that you'd be facing another $2K to re-do the interior, and whatever-else-corners that were cut
in creating this car, in its present as-is condition?

The seller is hoping for a 'yes' answer....

Dunno how the tail pipes were 'done', but they may have been cut too short and/or not turned downward, so that the exhaust crap
can not exit downward toward the pavement, and avoid spreading out, over/onto the decklid area.

I'm not saying I would pay $39.K for the car... I just happen to really like the color scheme and overall condition looks to be very nice and it would look good in my garage. I don't think they'll get what they're asking given the issues - that is - if a buyer actually realizes the interior cloth is incorrect, the rubber dam is missing at the rear, etc. etc.

Those two-headlight Imperials have a really unique look!

Not trying to be harsh.... myself, but when people are asking crazy prices and you can see obvious mistakes in restoration, I think they need to be pointed out, especially if someone not well educated in these cars is thinking of purchasing. I love the car, but like you, the single headlights are my least favorite item on it.

No reason you couldn't buy the car for $39K then spend another grand affixing a second set of headlights atop the fenders.

I am thinking if this cars insides are as good condition as its outsides it is a good price! By insides I mean mechanically. This is a rare car, and it is a Hemi powered, full chassis, two door hard top, top of the line luxury Chrysler built motor car. I have to say I prefer the twin headlight front too, but this one is a beauty.
Like the Doc says, they ain't making them anymore and if it this model is your bent, you better get on to it!

Steve.

Some say Virgil's favourite car was a 57 Imperial!

This car is in good shape, the restoration was probably done for someone that doesn't know too much about these rare cars. I've seen some other flaws not listed above but for unrestored cars like this selling for above 10k i would say it is a good purchase.
I agree that the single headlamp is not the best featured, but if the new owner plans to change them to dual, its better to get the matching grille too, since they are not the same.
