I am looking at pre-cut carpet for 1957 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door sedan with the original bench seat. I see ads for carpet for a 2 door with a bench seat but not 4 door car. Is there a difference?

TIA

Yes

I am waiting for a carpet for my dodge now (should be here friday)

I could not find a 4 door on either, so I asked the supplier (original interiors) what the differance was, they told me that on a coupe, the front and rear carpets overlap under the bench seat, where a 4dr, there is a gap under the seat

I think this is because on a coupe, the rear carpet only needs to go just past the front edge of the rear seat, where a 4dr, the rear carpet has to reach around the sides of the rear seat (where the door opens)

Anyway, I wanted a molded carpet, and I could only get a coupe one (to suit a 60 plymouth), so thats what I have ordered as well as an extra yard of carpet so I have a bit extra to modify if I have to

Jc whittney has it believe it or not, I checked everywhere for my 59 4-door and they had it. Worked well, they have quite a few colors too.

And for everyone else, here's how terribly complicated the OEM carpeting is.
