Expert 5K+ Posts: 6504 Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) | I heard it was possible. What intake can you use? What cable operated transmission is used? Is there a special cam to use? Is this nuts or what? Someone please show pics! Opinions requested. Marc.

Mopar Market is Australian & their Forums have Threads on the subject.I heard it was possible. What intake can you use? What cable operated transmission is used? Is there a special cam to use? Expert Posts: 4533 Location: Ripon, WI | Believe it or not, the racers do it. Not sure how. The guy who bought my 360 block that I sold is doing that. They typically use a 360, if they can and poly heads. Not sure what they do with the intake. But yes, it is being done, but I havent' seen much out there on how they are doing it.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8948 Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | this is what i got back from gary pavlovich , with a note about freeze plugs-----------------------------------------------later Yes a Poly head can be modified slightly to fit on an LA block. Check out the latest issue of Chrysler Power where Roland Osborne bolted his Poly heads on his 360 truck block. I know of several people that have reputedly bolted the Poly heads on their LA blocks although I have not done it personally. I will test it out for myself since I have a spare 340 block and Poly heads. The first thing to do is take the Poly gaskets and lay them on the LA block; I believe there is one water jacket hole that does not mate and the dowel pins are in different locations – these are very minor differences and easily rectified. You should be able to use the cup style LA freeze plugs in your Poly block unless it takes the early brass dish-style; I have some spare dish freeze plugs for the early Poly block. At the shop we have modified the early blocks to accept the later LA cup style LA freeze plugs for simplicity of repair.
