If this is 1960 Imperial, neither!

The top one is a restored one from the guy in AU, the bottom was a supposed NOS piece. These would have been for the 61 or 63. Surprised nobody knows or has commented

Hey Mike, nice pictures……………well it sure looks a lot different than the one on my ’56 Plodge Suburban.

Do you think that if you had mentioned the year and model in the post subject that you might have got more responses?

The old “target your market” business thing.

Of course, I should have. I'm also not blind to the fact that I'm polarizing. Many board members have voiced their frustrations over my altering of cars from their original state. I know I'm not exactly a fan favorite

Oh, I wouldn’t go that far………………..I too come from the school of slice and dice!

A modified car saved from the crusher is better than one destroyed because the inside truck paint was not period correct!

The top one is an aftermarket like you say, you can see how the silver circumferential grooves end at the centre piece crest. on the originals there is a chromed potmetal disk with the grooves in it (complete circles) under the plastic disk with the crest. Two separate pieces, three actually, including the outer trim. Your bottom one, the original, is missing the chromed potmetal disc (on the 1960 models anyhow!).

Did you buy the NOS 1960 crest recently on eBay? It was over $600 I believe?.

Hope this helps.

Steve.

Yes I bought it off ebay, but paid a lot less than 600. I never get emails returned from the guy in AU, so I gave up on that. I had a 2k order to place with him and couldn't get consistent communication. Which is a shame as I had bought 2 of these from him before.
