Location: Seville, OH | I have two of the subject brake drums (no hubs) that came as part of a parts package. I have two questions:
1) What would be the OEM application for them?
2) Does anyone know the service limit on the diameter?
Based on the bolt circle, I am assuming they are Imperial, but maybe something else used them? I'd like to sell them but need to know what they fit and if they are still usable. Dave |

Location: Under the X in Texas | There were two applications in the forward look era that used the 5 on 5.5" pattern. The Imperials as you stated and also the Chrysler and DeSoto "estate wagons". If I could give you a definitive explanation of what else makes up an "estate wagon" I would but I don't clearly understand it myself. I think it only applies to 1955 and 1956.
Maximum size the drum can be turned to is typically 12.090 but someone should back me up on that. |

Location: Seville, OH | My 56 Imperial had 12"x2.5" drums. These are narrower, maybe 55 Imperial? Or wagons? |

Location: Seville, OH | Well I measured the drums and they are right at 12.00 so they should be fine to use, but still can't find application. It seems the Imperials only used the 2.5" drum so maybe wagon only? Can anybody help?
