Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | I need help from someone who owns a 1958 Plymouth Savoy with an ORIGINAL interior. The seats in my car have been recovered in the past and I cannot have access to a correct interior so I could have my upholstery guy reproduce the original Savoy seats. So if anyone here can help me by taking some measurements in their car's interior, it would help me a whole lot! Here's a little drawing I did in Paint to show the measurements I would need. Thanks! Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | Also, if you saved some nice pics of 1958 Savoy OEM interiors, please share them as reference. For now, the best pics I have of what my interior should look like are these: (131862231721.jpg) (131862234611.jpg) (131862234621.jpg) (DSCF7987.jpg) (58 Savoy 4.JPG) (347.jpg) (349.jpg) (10897129_31.jpg) (10897129_32.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 131862231721.jpg (58KB - 163 downloads) 131862234611.jpg (51KB - 162 downloads) 131862234621.jpg (57KB - 154 downloads) DSCF7987.jpg (102KB - 151 downloads) 58 Savoy 4.JPG (41KB - 146 downloads) 347.jpg (24KB - 145 downloads) 349.jpg (27KB - 142 downloads) 10897129_31.jpg (33KB - 144 downloads) 10897129_32.jpg (45KB - 148 downloads)

Plus, your car is a canadian Savoy, if i recall correctly, so this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | Grunau, thank you so, so much, that is fantastic! That's exactly what I needed and I don't think I could have ever found a better car than yours as a reference! Those seats are GORGEOUS, I am in awe! The Canada-only cloth really stands out, and looks GREAT. If you can post more pics of your Savoy, I'd love to see them. My interior will be black and white and I found and bought the correct canadian-style cloth at SMS. Here's the sample they sent me, and below, a photo of the Canadian dealer upholstery book. It's as close a match as I could get, I think. Extreme Veteran Posts: 444 Location: North of the 49th | Hi Nope... Never seen it before... Gee there must be two of them Just Kidding I've owned this car for so long its almost part of me... It no longer has the US caps and I'm not sure if I'm going to put the wingtips back on, with the Wingtip guards on it I can't use the Bug screen (It was a Chryco NOS piece) and there is no way I was going to just leave the rear bumper wing guards on by themselves not only is that incorrect but it looks dumb. I came to the realization that this is a uniquely Canadian car built in Windsor Ontario and there are hardly any Canadian Forwardlook cars left out there , the American models are well represented as they should be, but I feel that more effort should be placed on saving the Canadian stuff as well as Export Models. Your Regent is a fine example as was your '59 ...did the car stay in Canada? . At present I've started the restoration of a Regent trim level Station wagon (Custom Suburban). These have virtually disappeared, it will be done as a basic correct car with blackwall tires just as most of them were. Edited by grunau 2014-01-12 3:01 PM

My ex-59 is now in Montreal, and the new owner is as much a purist as I am about the originality and preservation of that low mileage car, so it's in really good hands for the years to come. Over the next few years, I plan to bring my 58 Regent back to a shape as close as possible to factory original, with just a few upgrades here and there for safety and dependabilty (I'll keep the disc brake conversion on it, for instance!). I've never seen a 58 Regent wagon restored, anywhere! That will be something special!

I think I like the Savoy Sport coupes better then the Belvederes. Such classic lines. Years ago I found one with the same side trim as yours in a salvage yard in Missouri. It really wasent in to bad shape and had a torqueflight trans. I bought the bumper end wings off of it for my 58...... But decided the Savoy just didn't need them... and sold them. Heres a pic of my 58 Savoy, (sold it long ago). I was the 2nd owner and restored it to OEM spec's.

How yardage did it take you for each section. i have a 58 savoy and was just kinda curious of the amount so i can calculate costs (at least for fabrics and vinyl anyway) I had three yards of cloth and that was more than enough. I had bought 6 yards of off white vinyl, and that was just enough. Finally, for the back of the front seat, i bought three meters of black vinyl and that was really tight and I should have bought a meter more to be sure.
