The time has come to think about adjusting the noisy valves on my '55 Plymouth with the 230. It runs great at highway speed but its extremely noisy at idle or below 55 mph. I think the previous owner said he loosened them up, and I don't want to burn them but one or two are clicking too much for my taste. My question is with how the motors sit in here and how low these FL cars sit already, how in the heck do you guys adjust these? At least in trucks you can take a splash pan off, etc. This job looks like a huge PITA. Do you break out the mirrors? Pull the front clip off? Any advice would be great, I've adjusted plenty of OHV motors (Chevy 216, small blocks) but this is my first flatty and I'm not looking forward to it. Thanks.
