Funny thing: right now, in today's L.A. Times, is an article about a 1965 ve-Dub windowed micro-bus, which was stolen out
of WA-state, in 1974.

Its VIN has remained on the national vehicle theft bureau files, and guess what?

Some 'restorer' in AZ restored the thing, and it, along with "several other" Vee-dubs that that restorer had worked upon, had been transported to the Port Of L.A., for shipping to The Netherlands.

The cars had been put into shipping containers before arriving at the docks, so, the containers were 'routinely-randomly' opened for inspection, and VOILA!----Stolen Vehicle, Baby!

So, AllSnake Ins. Co.had paid out $2.5K for the loss of the thing, but now stands to get title to it (as they legitimately BOUGHT the thing, back then, when they settled the Comprehensive-theft loss claim) which is reportedly worth about $25K, now.

AllSnake will, then, sell the car, at public auction, and take their profit.

Neither the restorer, nor the thing's N.L. purchaser, or, probably, the thing's most-recent owner appear to be criminally liable, but the BIG-loser is probably the N.L. buyer, who will have to try to sue/negotiate with the thing's seller to get any reimbursement-compensation for his monetary loss.

The article concludes by saying that the CHP will try to trace back the thing's ownership history to try to find out who registered the thing after it was stolen, but, the article quotes the CHP investigator as saying that : " (the) Spokane police couldn't find the owner."

So, Brent, you may be off the hook, here!

Really liked the name on the Imp Jocke! Sugtina instead of Sigtuna - that's a "lost in translation" for our friends here!

There's (presently, anyway) no under-hood compressor, but, there is that insulated cowl-blower motor--hadn't
noticed it, before, and couldn't see any A/C dash-vents on it, but, yeah, looks like it's dual A/C, huh?
