I adverticed for a door for my '66 Imperial Crown convertible on the www.imperialclub.com After a couple of days I received 2 e-mails from England, both claiming they had my door in stock.

Here are the 2 guys that sendt me their e-mail:

Paul Smith, 67 Sixth Avenue London, United Kingdom. e-mail: psmith473@googlemail.com

Anthony Todd, Melbourne Road, SE1 SAA London U.K. Phone: +447024058747. e-mail: auto.spares76@gmail.com

First of all, the text in their message was mostly alike. Second, they came on the same day and close to the same time.

I considered both as scam/phishing and did not answere any of them.

Have any of you guys heard about these two people? And if you have, have you done any business with them?

Would appreciate your reply very much.

Einar.

I think this is a scam. This same Anthony Todd contacted me about an add for an intake manifold for my DeSoto. He wanted payment through Western Union. I told him I couldn't pay what he was asking for the manifold. He asked me to make an offer. I cut his price in half and offered it to him. He immediately accepted it. After that I didn't feel good about a transaction with him. I moved on and looked elsewhere. He may be legit but I didn't want to take the chance.

THANK YOU so much again guys, for the information. I appreciate it all very much. And that sure was an enormous list of scammers BigBlockMopar. I just can't belive it. Oh, but yes, i do now. You guys sure are a good source to valuable information.

I actually do have a good nose for scammers, since I get at least one or two every single day of the year. So I did immediately get suspicious. But you know how it is when you need a part for your car bad enough..... you sure hope it's just that guy having exactely what you need (lol).

Well, I better be on guard at all times I guess. "The world is full of crooks and millionaires". (an American song I used to hear alot before)

Thanks again, Einar.

Add another name to the list: Terry Dunne, also out of England, has been contacting Plymouth Club members and claiming to have rare parts; wants payment by Western Union or Moneygram. I have his email if anyone wants it.

I got an e-mail from a Chris Smith in Sacramento, CA, about parts for my '66 Imperial Crown convertible coupe. He don't have the parts I'm asking for at the Imperialclub webpage, but want to sell me some other parts, like mouldings. He claim to own one '66 Crown hardtop coupe and one '66 Crown convertible coupe like mine. He also want to sell the hardtop coupe. Enybody heard about this guy, and if he exists at all? I checked the list BigBlockMopar posted a link to here, but couldn't find his name there. But that list was very long, so I could have missed his name. Hope I don't offend this guy by checking him out.
Einar.
