I emailed him awhile back but didn't get a response. Does anyone have a contact number? Also has anyone bought from him?

George is really spotty on responding to emails. I just went through the order process with him. I had ordered everything he makes for 1956 Dodge CRL's (front and rear crests, tail light lenses, reverse light lenses, running light lenses, license plate lenses, and dome light lenses). I had placed my order and sent my money back in November and just received the final pieces of my order. It is a little scary and be ready for a wait, but his stuff is gorgeous.

Keep trying to email him and he will eventually respond.

It's been over a year and a half and no response except recently to apologize for accidentally marking my order complete. I am looking for it any day now but it has been a long wait. I am most looking forward to the trunk medallion. I can't wait to tell you it has been worth the wait!

My experience with Laurie was the same as DepsilonD's. I ordered and sent $ to a west coast person, who apparently banked
US $$ for him. About 6 months llater, I received the same laundry list of badges and lenses, all well done and all fit as expected. Lots of people have had less than satisfactory results. I think they expect instant results, but fail to take into consideration that Laurie 's set up is in the "outback" and off the electric supplies. He has to rely on his diesel generator for power. It like all other mechanical items is subject to Murphy's 1st Law. But as he makes up aa bunch of requested/ordered items, he fills the orders. . . . . . Screaming, shouting, nasty emails, threatening letters, etc., appear to have no motivating effect. When he gets them done is when he gets the order filled.! !

I realize this should probably be posted in the vendor discussion. Sorry.

Here is a little sampling of his work . . . and the funny part is, George was not happy with the way the tail light lenses came out and is redoing his mold and resending once they are complete. The stuff looks fantastic to me.

David, do you have an accounting of how much George charged you for the cloisonne emblems' production?

Neil, I paid $300 for the pair.

This is the price list I was working off of, but these things can always change (and I think George listed a special price recently in on the the "parts for sale" listings on this forum: 1955/56 Dodge --- Tails Coronet $70.00us pair, Custom Royal $100.00us pair, Back-ups Coronet $70.00us pair, Custom Royal $100.00us pair. Licence Lights $25.00 each, Park Lenses $100.00us pair, Grill/Trunk Emblems- 1955 $260.00us pair, 1956 $300.00us pair, 1955/56 H/top Interior lights $70.00us pair, 1955/56 Sedan Interior light $45.00us. And I think shipping was $25.00.

And Mike McCandless, I am glad you got in contact with George. I was the one who sent you the information through Facebook.

Dave

Thanks, just curious about how much Emblemagic would charge for those guys.

Well, turns out that Emblemagic gets $250.00 for each one of this emblem:

Depends on how much of a hurry that you are 'in', to get one.

Here's both versions; as for the Emblemagic illustration, George's looks better made.

(BTW, the 1955 emblem costs $200.00 each).

Neil, that is what I thought. After looking at Emblemagic's site, I was sort of thinking that they may be selling George's emblems domestically. But I am not sure. It would be great to cross-compare. I have also sent an email to George to see if he would be interested in a domestic distributor for ALL of his lenses and crests . . . . somebody like me for example.

I have his grille emblem for my '58 Windsor and it's perfect, couldn't be happier with it. If he has what you want in stock he will usually ship it right out after being paid via PayPal. If it needs to be made expect to wait.

I have not had any direct dealings with GL but a friend sent him an NOS 61 Chrysler trunk lid plastic emblem so a good mold could be made for reproducing copies. The NOS original nor anything else has been returned in spite of repeated efforts and it has been six and a half years. He seems to produce an excellent product but I am not willing to take the chance of something going very wrong.

I would be not pleased if waiting 6.5 years for a rare NOS emblem to be returned, after being nice/brave enough to trust someone with it.
