Aw, at least three times what Frank is wanting there. LOL

Those frames are diecast and bepending on how pitted will determine price. I'll give a guestiment of $150 for a show chrome job.

Anyway, that frame Frank has isn't for a '57 or 8 NYer. I'll guess again and say that one is for a '59

$150 sounds close if it is not too pitted plus a little for the painted parts unless you can do it yourself.

IT's definitely a 57 rear licence frame.   58's did not have the emblem on top and 59' licence plates were in the bumper area not the deck lid.

Looks just like the one on my 57. The little emblem isn't painted. It is a foil backed plastic piece that is always gone. The factory stuck it in place with a dab of huckumputty and it rarely held on for long. I have a nice one somewhere in a box.

Funny…I just sent mine off to get chromed. I also just received the emblem from George Laurie. It looks great. Any suggestions on what I should use to glue the emblem to the chrome? Think JB Weld would work?

I wouldn't trust this guy selling only real NOS stuff. Its so easy to restore old parts and put them in old boxes.

Just recently a friend of mine bought similar NOS part for around 400,- USD: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-1971-1972-1973-1974-Cuda-Challe...

This guys is crazy. I wonder where he finds stupid buyers these days.

So, Frank's $795.00 (don't forget the FREE shipping on it) price being reasonable, or not, depends upon "your"
needing to replace your car's license plate frame assembly with an NOS unit, in the immediate future.

Anyone who has had a part be re-chromed knows that the rechroming process will remove and/or fill-in some surface
detailing on the piece, and, a re-chromed piece usually looks/screams "re-chromed", when casually viewed.

I don't know what Emblemagic (or George Laurie) would charge for 'this' cloisonne emblem, but, I'd bet at least $100 and
maybe $150.00.

You are not likely to score another NOS license plate surround, anywhere else, so Frank is apparently selling his piece on its
being an extremely rare find, and, on its being immediately available, right-now, to you.

How badly that 'you' need a perfect condition piece, and right-now, and whether you can afford to drop $800 for it, is something
that only 'you' can decide.

I'm not defending Frank Mitchell, necessarily, but he's not under any responsibility to try to sell his parts for as-LITTLE money,
as possible.

It is rare NOS indeed, and though pricey, I'd agree with Neil - I wouldn't count on ever finding another for a show car that demands that level of perfection... one reason I'm building a driver. The plastic fake cloisonne emblem even looks perfect. The last real cloisonne (fired porcelain/glass on metal) trim that I know of was on the '56 Packard, the last real Packard.

Supply and demand; it's NOT cheap. BUT, it IS immediately available to 'you'.

'You' did nothing other than to log-on, here, and to find this part's availability at literally nothing more from you, than a
couple keystrokes, ( including the payment thereon).

The seller incurred all of the hassles and expenses involved in presenting this item for sale, to us.

The more higher-priced the item, the less likely it is to sell, quickly.

And, the 'you' is used purely metaphorically, to refer to all of us, here.
