Hi friends,

Sorry, as far as I search in this forum I cannot find an address for the A engine freeze plug.

Of course these are the plain type of plugs, slightly concave.

Wherever I look I can find only the cupped size of plug. Good for LA engines, not for mine.

I need six of these plain-concave freeze plugs.

Can somebody help me?

thanks ...........................

if the plug holes are machined at build time to use cup plugs , it'll make life easier -----------------------------------------------later

I agree with Chuck. We have re-cut many EarlyHemi blocks for slightly oversize cups.
In the old style, often, the main body of the hole is proper for size but just not cut deep enough to seat a cup. Very careful work
with a die grinder can remove the remainder.

Most folks install them incorrectly, there was a thread here some time ago on the proper installation technique.

Thank you all for the assistance - Where would I be without this forum? :-))

I ordered the 2 sets of the correct plugs at Lawson's site. The only drawback is they don't seem to foresee shipping outside u.s.
I asked anyway - Hoping for the best.

I installed them properly, I used stainless steel ones first, they fell out, ended up using the cheaper steel ones and they worked

Would have been nice if they fell out before the engine and front clip was on (ran the engine without a front clip for a few weeks, no problem).

First start up after the front panels were on, they fell out in succession and I didnt even have a radiator cap on it, things just decided to jump ship (hate hate hate)

Because of the lack of room, I had to pull the exhaust manifolds back off and cut a hammer in 1/2 and find other inventive things to replace them (hate hate hate)

Next one I do will have the holes machined to take proper plugs

Hi all, the correct concave expansion plugs arrived this morning , thanks to rockauto.com who ordered the parts at Dorman's and shipped them to me. Excellent job!!! Dorman did not ship the parts outside U.S. The plugs are made of Brass. Many thanks to Mark who suggested me the Dorman's site. So I took them to the machine shop in town as they have the correct tools to install them properly into my block. They have done this job to my engines two other times earlier, and they never failed. Soon my Poly will be roaring again. Thanks to all of you !
