| This was a very nice show and it has been one of my favorites for quite a few years. Not that many FLK cars (just Tom's Gaugin Red 300C and the Big-Tailed Beast), but a lot of very nice cars. My favorite was an "almost" FLK car, a '62 Sport Fury with a Max Wedge, though a 1920 Packard Roadster was really the most magnificent car there (I love those extra "high class" spare tires)! A Hemi RoadRunner got the Muscle Car class, so all in all, we MoPar guys didn't do too badly at all.
Again, I love that Packard, the '63 Split Window Fuelie, and Doc MacNamara's '39 Ford chopped and dropped converitble.

Location: The Mile High City | That sounds like a great time, Joe. I am glad you were able to check it all out. I had a very busy day today with the youngsters - three soccer games and a parents vs. kids match! We like to call it "Parents Rule, Kids Drool" - but somehow, the whippersnappers always manage to snatch a victory away from the oldtimers.
That Packard roadster sounds terrific! I don't think that I have seen Tom's car in quite some time. If either of you took any photos, I would love to see them! I need to get on the stick and publicize these events a bit more.
It sounds like the next event might be the Golden cruise on July 2? |

| Sorry, no pitchurs, guys, though I must admit the Beast was the subject of quite a few photogs -- the engine, of course, being the most photographed, but the steering wheel, interior, fins, and the whole car was snapped away at. Some people even took pics of the SonoRamic Commando Power scare badges and the Fury roundels.
Events such as these are a definite personal triumph for me as compliments such as "sweet," "beautiful," "great car," etc., come one right after another. Naturally, I enjoy hearing loud praises about the BTB, especially when it parked among triple nickel Chebbies, Ford retractibles, Cameros, Firebirds, and other "belly button" cars, but the real personal triumph comes when they are directed to my wife -- she who uttered those words of contempt when the car was unloaded in my driveway, "I thought it was ugly when it was new, and I think it's ugly now"!

Location: The Mile High City | It is always good to hear an honest opinion from someone who is not wearing "rose colored glasses" when it comes to these cars. On this site, I have seen some busted-down old '58 Dodges and I can't bring myself to say an unkind word about them! Sometimes it takes the better half to inject a dose of sanity into our crowd! |
