Took the interior out of the 57 today and found a couple of spots that will need attention. I scraped off most of the factory "goop" that was on the floors and am wondering what you guys have used to reseal the floor?

The car is a 57 Savoy that I found here locally and is pretty clean. Rubber mat on the floor with the factory jute backing and the original owner saw fit to add some additional backing, using old carpets and other types of material!!!!!

Once I get the rust repaired, I want to reseal the floors with a rust preventative paint and am wondering if I should put some type of rubberized coating back on. If so what have you guys sued.

Thanks,

Bed liner, such as Herculiner, works great.

I had a '51 Chxxy that had too many people standing on the roof. It was the 2nd year for the Bel Air 2 door hrdtp. Rather than spend a bunch of money doing the many hours of metal working to be able to paint it, the body shop I was working with mixed up something like the Herculiner Brian referred t. The shop added tint to it until it was acrream color. Then it was sprayed on the roof. We also glued down a couple of sttrips of fabric to represent seams. It looked just like a vynil top when it dried and was cleaned up.Stood up fine for the 5 years we drove that car in central Missouri.

We just did the floors in my 59 Plymouth...scraped the loose stuff...welded a couple of small patches....ground the loose stuff....a few select small pinholes were painted with Por 15 then fiberglass mesh put over it and then por 15 over that....follow the instructions well with that product....no moisture..do not get it on your skin...etc....I'm going to go back with jute padding if Auto Custom Carpets can fab some up...
