OK everyone, I thought I would have some fun here. If any of you know or have heard the 'Ebay Song " By Weird Al Yankovick, he sings about the kind of stuff he wastes his money buying on Ebay, and its sung to the tune of a Back Street Boys song called "I Want it That Way" .

So about a year ago I decided to do my own version of the Ebay Song, changing the lyrics to reflect what us Mopar and FL people might buy on Ebay. It took me a couple of months to get the lyrics the way I wanted them, and then I built up a slide show on power point to go along with it. This all culminated last August when I played guitar and sang this song a the WPC Club Regional Meet banquet here in Victoria, and my wife did the powerpoint video as I sang. It was a blast and everyone thought it was a hoot. So over the past few days I decided to make a movie version to load on my YouTube account - so finally got it done. Hope you don't give me too much grief over it !! ! but it was kinda fun doing all this. Here's the link

Brian's right-that would be the one of the funniest YouTube videos ever if it wasn't so true! I'm sure at least half of the Forward Lookers here will think the song was written specifically about them...great job!

But, nobody's mentioned that you have to write a CHORUS to those lyrics???? (or, is there an instrumental-interlude, too?)

Ian, I GOT your strumming (right here--lololol!)

What I'm saying, is that the lyrics are so GOOD, that the song needs a refrain, or a chorus, to break up the verses.

Everyone remember that great 1965 song : "The Elusive Butterfly of Love" ? Good song, but no chorus; it just went on-and-on
relentlessly.

Hey Neil -

Grab a pair of headphones and plug them into the headphone jack in the back of your 'confuser' and you'll be able to hear Ian singing and strumming.

I wouldn't mind adding some more instruments to it but maybe another time..... maybeI should try a karaoke machine and sing along my own words... if they even have Weird Al on karaoke...

PS - if any of you are wondering about the reference in the song to " Jon Carson " and his toupee, Jon is a good friend of mine, a fellow WPC member from the Seattle area, who owns Fenders and Fins Restoration Shop http://www.fendersandfins.com He works closely with Jeff Carter, JC Auto in Seattle. And Jon does NOT wear a toupee, he took this all in good humor when I sang it at the club banquet. !!

If you can't find Weird Al on a karaoke machine I am sure you can find the original by the Backstreet Boys.
Here is a Youtube link to the original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPdHBSFYkbg

Would be cool to have all the original instruments with your text.
