Thanks, I'm going with the blue Loctite.  I found the following in the ARP FAQ after posting the question:

Can I use Loctite or any thread locker instead of ARP Ultra-Torque assembly lube?
Yes, you can. Some engine builders use blue Loctite on the stud end that goes into the block. Do NOT use Loctite on the nuts for the head studs or main studs. Always ensure that the threads are clean prior to applying any lube. When using Loctite, make sure you assemble the parts before the Loctite cures. You can use Loctite instead of ARP Ultra-Torque, but do not use them together.

I have had them loosen up  my current setup is actually welded.  Yes I got mad and spotwelded the edge of each flexplate tab to the converter.    I tried everything but pulling the engine as I was not in the mindset to do that.  Been welded for 3 years. I have ARP flexplate bolts for my 318 flexplate to torque converter.  ARP says to just use their lub and torque to 25 ft-lbs.  I also have their flexplate to crankshaft bolts however on these they want Locktite 242 (blue) on the threads and their lube under the head of the bolt.

I am concerned and would think that if Locktite is specified for the 6 large bolts why not on the 4 small bolts that go to the torque converter?  I did call ARP and they verified no Locktite on the torque converter bolts.

Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated.
