Ok yes you may be right Ray, it could just as easily be a shorter input shaft instead of longer. Regarding another member’s experience, I have heard and seen that the transmissions are bulkier further back, and the tunnel mods make sense. But I don’t really remember that much difference between the tunnels of early and later B bodies I’ve owned. But my memory is certainly subject to the effects of, um...long use. They mention 'engine specific' bellhousings being required. I'd suggest that the bellhousing isn't as deep as the Mopar ones, so with a shorter input shaft the gearbox sits further forward relative to the torsion bar crossmember.
But it's still a question worth asking.

So would need a different rear mount crossmember which could be fabbed, a different length driveshaft, that’s easy enough, shifter could be an issue if one didn’t want to modify their tunnel too much; I didn’t look at the details yet in your link but presume if there is a custom bell housing offered it has hydraulic throw out and a hydraulic kit for the pedal, that should work ok.

I did have the original dart piece to start with making it easy but seems like a couple of flat 1/8” plates could be fixed up to sandwich the torsion bar crossmember with other pieces added for about any height and set back needed.
