I guess it depends on how comfortably warm you want it. A guy I knew many years ago had a similar situation / problem. If I recall correctly, he either built some sort of small, temporary enclosure in the shop and only heated inside that, where he was working, not the entire shop. Or thought of doing that but ended up using some tarps or canvas and handing those from floor to ceiling in the area around his car to, in effect, make the shop area he had to heat smaller. Something along those lines; I don't remember what he actually did -- but I recall him asking himself why he had to heat up the whole shop when he only cared about the area where he was working on his car.
