Strut Rod nut removal

Hey all, does this rear nut need to be removed from the strut rod to pull the strut rod from the control arm? If so, what socket does it take. Thanks. I've just about got this 64 Sport Fury torn down so it can go to media blasting. Never done anything this thorough before. I'll post some pictures as I go. Thanks!
