Very likely. Doesn't a lot of the fluid in the torque converter drain back into the transmission after the engine is shut off? Seems that's what I remember as one cause of the fluid leaking past the cable O ring as the level rises. By the way, a gentleman in the Los Angeles CA area has put together a kit of all the O rings needed on the Pushbutton 727 Transmission. I think the kit is still available.
