I have had a spring come off a few times. "Operator error" as we say in the Army.
By the way, did you ever get that part from the vendor that wss taking so long? (I think it was you that had some delay and was trying to get feedback on the vendor).

It’s been a long time since I changed rear drum brakes on a 64’ Sport Fury. So I replaced
the shoes,wheel cylinders,and drums. Now on my first ride they began making a grinding sound as I drive. Any ideas?
