Re: Sealing 383 exhaust studs



I've not done it but I've heard about using pipe thread compound, like the stuff used in high temperature heater boilers, 
which supposedly only requires coating the bolts and installing. When using high temp sealants like Permatex (red 
copper etc.) "dry and clean" is the condition required for the bolt hole. Then let the car sit overnight before starting the 
engine.
