I know typef is for ford. Thats what my trans guy said to use in mine he told me not to use new stuff. It was a built trans not stock though. There was some other reason he told me to use it I cant remember why maybe seals or something with the valve body it was a manual vb. It was an older build. Maybe the newer builds and race parts take the new synthetic stuff.

Thanks for the update. Looking like the wrong trans filter was put in, does it not?
I recall reading that, as a general rule, AT fluid is generally designed to be backwards compatible. Newer Mopar fluid
works in an older TF. But rules are made and broken so look for a "compatible with" statement from the manufacturer.
For example: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/28070/10002/-1 displays such a statement.
A version of Mercon® is what the 1962 TF used originally I think.
P.S. type F was a Ford fluid; some Mopar racers used it to get "firmer" shifts.
