Hello,
I've been looking on the Internet for basic information on sizing an electric fuel pump and hopefully one that does not drive me crazy with the noise. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. So far I have not found much usable information.
This is not 62 to 65 Mopar however the information will be appreciated when I do the fuel system on my 383 and 318 Poly later.
This is for a 1968 Dodge D200 truck with a 383. The current fuel system is a mess with both the behind the seat fuel tank and a second one in the frame tied together without a valve. The fuel pump is a very loud electric mounted below the cab floor.
I have the parts I need to separate the tanks with an electric valve. I want to purchase a new fuel pump that will support the stock 383 and locate it in a better location.
BIG Question
What size pump in gallons per hour do I really need? One calculator said 30 gph will support 350 hp?
I don't think a return system is practical with 2 tanks, I don't want to oversize the pump too much.
Any thoughts on a pump that will not drive me crazy with the noise.
Thanks
Dennis C.
