I bet the handles have never been off mine - so why on earth with original door panels it is such a pain. The door panels are a little warped/swelled from moisture over the years is the only thing I can think of. It took cutting away the broken washer to see what I has up against. Well I have a perfect “cutaway” half washer now. LOL Why is every little detail on a ’62 Mopar a pain! I did accomplish a couple things over the last few days that went a little smoother - shot the roof back to Polar white - then installed Joe Suchy tail gate seals and glass run channels........... The gate and window have never been so smooth - LOL.......... But at least you can use the "awl" method. Email me and send the KD tool back and I will reimburse you + shpg. Ric. Sorry it did not work on your '62...I spend hours with other methods on my '56 and this tool was the only one to work flawlessly. Perhaps my door panel and "lighter" pressure door/window handle springs allow more clearance. Maybe the "bent butter knife" method would have worked for my wagon too. But no way could I get the correct tool inserted fully behind between the handle and plastic washer. Pushed with all my might on the door panel - the spring behind the door panel and the thickness of the panel just would not give room to use the proper tool. -- -- -- Please address private email -- email of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
