Oh bummer! But at least you can use the "awl" method. Email me and send the KD tool back and I will reimburse you + shpg. Ric. Sorry it did not work on your '62...I spend hours with other methods on my '56 and this tool was the only one to work flawlessly. Perhaps my door panel and "lighter" pressure door/window handle springs allow more clearance.

Another thing I found that worked - besides the correct tool - is an awl or small pick inserted carefully between the clip and the handle. Maybe the "bent butter knife" method would have worked for my wagon too.

But no way could I get the correct tool inserted fully behind between the handle and plastic washer. Pushed with all my might on the door panel - the spring behind the door panel and the thickness of the panel just would not give room to use the proper tool.
