I called Michael Harding Wednesday night and talked almost 2 hours with him. I had a hard copy of an article he did about his 65 Plymouth and the several differentials he has had in it. He answered my questions and checked on a kit from doctordiff.com for only about $65. It has the steel retainers, the bearings, the gaskets and the oil seal. Mopar performance has the same thing for $125. I guess I'll do doctordiff.
The seal was messed up and there was black RTV all over the retainer. As you could see in my previous pictures. It's actually a pretty easy fix but will require a press.
I have first cataract surgery coming up on the 11th so I probably won't get the axles done until after my second eye surgery on the 31st. I'm really looking forward to getting my vision tuned up.
The 2 steel housing gasket and 2 foam retainer gaskets are available at NAPA for less than $6 for all 4 pieces
