Okay, Sure can run the electric through the mechanical.

I did run mine though the mechanical. I've decided to by-pass the mechanical this year. Don't want the HP drag.

Not sure if you can turn off the electrical and suck through it with the mechanical - think you can but I'll defer to someone else on that.

I use Carter pumps. Don't think the noise level is annoying and they pump enough to feed my 400-500 HP engines.
