Re: 1965 rear wheel stud part #?

65s were not tapered axle, so it is a 65 or newer

Oops,

I probably was not clear on what I have.  As far as I know the differential I put in my 63 SF came out of a 65 Coronet wagon.  It is an 8 3/4 but it does not have the tapered axles.

OK, you switched on us, originally it was a 65 B body, now you have an A body??  Disregard my statement!

Thanks,

However I think I have it easier, it is a 65 differential without the tapered axles.  When I switched to disc brakes that took care of the front, the new hub is right hand threads as I am sure all of them are now.

I'll save your email for when I do my 64 Belvedere that still have left hand studs.

The part # for studs for the left side will work on the right and give you right hand threads all the way around!   You do know you will need to cut the swedg to remove the old studs with out probably damaging your axle?  You do know you should have the studs pressed in and the drum swedged back into place?

Thanks for all of the great suggestions.

I'm going to be in a salvage yard, I'll give a try at finding some I can take out.  I also have a NAPA number that is probably good, 641-1610.

Thanks Again

Hello,

I want to change the left hand studs on my axle to right hand but I am having trouble finding the correct part number.  A search of Dorman products left me unsure of the correct stud to use.

Any information on the correct stud would be appreciated, this is for a 1965 Coronet B body rear axle.

Thanks
Dennis C.
