I got my Weiand 7503 manifold installed with the Eddy 600. The car ran very badly with the 2bbl on the stock manifold. Unfortunately it still runs badly with the 4bbl. I have tried 2 different 2bbls on the stock manifold and the 4bbl as mentioned.
Previously it was running pretty well with the 2bbl and I did have a bad alternator which caused it to run poorly with the low voltage issue. After replacing the alternator the car still ran bad but the voltage issue was gone. I thought that maybe the ECU had been damaged from the electrical issue so I replaced it with a spare. Still running very badly. The fuel pressure via the electric
fuel pump is in the 3-4psi range and steady. This is a good number for the Eddy.
I found the right bank to be running 100-200 deg's hotter than the left bank at the headers. The 1-3-5-7 plugs are wet with gas. The 2-4-6-8 plugs are dry but black. After a compression check the cylinders are all in the 175-190 range. The vacuum reading dropped off when the issue
arose by about 5". I had actually been getting readings up to 24" but now run about 14". It does hold steady. I checked for vac leak and found none. I checked the spark with an induction tester and all plugs are firing. I do believe I should use my tester which will show the actual strength of the voltage. The new cam probably has about 500 miles on it.
I am inclined to believe there is an
ignition issue but I can't reconcile the fact that the problem is entirely on the left bank?? Any ideas?
