RE: This is a cool wagon, but...

Ended without making the reserve.  Still could have made a contact to sell it.

Listed a couple of the Uncle’s cars on there, always at a set buy-it-now price, and immediate $500 down payment required.  Balance by cashier’s check.  Still no guarantee buyer will pay.  One buyer backed out because he wanted to pay balance by credit card or Paypal so he could do a charge back “if the address is a vacant building, and the car doesn’t exist”.  eBay takes some trust - especially when buying sight unseen - if you can’t handle that don’t buy on there.  Relisted it (a Shay Model A replica) and it sold again the same day.  The new buyer sent a cashier’s check, only to reverse the package - when he saw we had sold the same car twice and got nervous too.  I had already told him after the auction on the phone about the first buyer.  Luckily he had a local friend who came and inspected the car.  Then he just deposited the cashier’s check into my account at his local Bank of America.  Couple weeks later the transporter he lined up delivered the car and he was thrilled since we had represented it truthfully.

You can get your $125 listing fee back if a buyer agrees to back out.

So I just went on ebay to check out the wagon but the bidding has ended.  Did buddy sell it or is he holding out for more dollars?  I'm not really experienced on all things ebay.

I have seen a lot of comments among group members about the lack of a title being a non-starter.  In New England, most of the states did not require titles until the 1970s or 80s, which means that I can buy, for example, a 1965 Dodge from New Hampshire, which did not require a title in 1965, and register it in Maine with simply a bill of sale.  I have bought and sold several cars this way without a problem.  It makes life a lot easier.

9 passenger too boot - could convert my ’62 wagon with parts from that..........  ; )  Wonder where the spare is located on a 9 passenger wagon.

No title is a non-starter though for the whole thing.  Just trying to scrap some old cars sinking into the soil on my Uncles estate in SoCal this year was a major pain.
