Herb,
Never thought of that... went out and pulled one and measured and it comes up 1"-14 thread, which is 1" Unified Standard Thread (UNS), which is a straight, non-tapered thread. 1" tapered pipe thread (NPT) is 11 1/2 threads per inch (who thought that was a good idea?) so while you could probably grind a 1" pipe plug into your expensive intake, I'd rank it up there with removing your tonsils through your rump... possible but probably not a good idea.
Tap drill size for 1" UNS is 15/16" and for the 1" tapered pipe plug (NPT) is 1 5/32", so there is sufficent material available on the intake to redrill and tap for either. You might get away with the drum bung but I'd venture a guess that Mopar purists will snap your antenna off and beat you with it when they look under your hood and find pipe plugs.
The standard intake plug, for reference, is 7/8"-18 UNS thread.

Ok, this is from an old memory so take it as just that. But, if I remember
an old conversation correctly, a friend used the small bungs from a 55
gallon drum for missing plugs in his manifold? He might have drilled &
taped the holes to make them work if they were not a direct fit.
