Well by golly at least you made progress and solved a problem before it happened !  Kinda like dejavue to me.  Mine broke right behind the trans mount instead of in front of it like yours.

For me I'm lucky I have the original trans which provided the doner unit and that the rear seal was in good condition. My pit crew did a great job as always replacing the tailshaft and with the new driveshaft installed we'll try some of those higher rpm shifts.
