Spray Chrome experience I have had, which is limited to dash plastic is: It is the closest thing you will find to real chrome, but it is only as strong as the Urathane clear paint it is top coated with. For a high wear item such as a console, I would not recommend it. .........................MO

With the high cost of chrome plating, you may find a place your way that uses an alternative method. I'd assume the outcome depends on prep, like any paint-like process.
