It appears that you have no kickdown linkage
whatsoever. Unless you have a manual valve body in your auto trans, I'd suggest
you don't drive the car at all until you get a correct and functioning kickdown
linkage on the car. You WILL fry the trans in short order.
You should have something that resembles the pic
attached on you car...

Subject: Re: No transmission downshift
when flooring it
Somtimes I think it is a miracle that this car actually
runs. I had a look at my carb. Is the left side of the carb on the
driver's side or the passenger side? Regardless I don't see anything
that resembles a rod going to the transmission nor am I sure where it would
exactly if I did have one. I'm attaching two pics, one from the left
side one from the right. What am I missing?

My 65 Coronet with a 383 and whatever automatic

floor it. My Chevy friend tells me that my detent cable probably needs
some adjustment which he is happy to do but upon further investigation tells
me I am missing that cable. I assume he knows what he is talking about
and that I should have such a cable. What is it called in the Mopar
world? -Steve
