Gary,,,,,,, I have never used an A-body in a B-body, but know
it is done often,,,,,, the spring perches are nothing, anyone that can weld can
move them, if you do not have the bigger bolt pattern axles you have several
options, some have already been stated, another is having the A-body axles
redrilled and studded, or my favorite just getting aftermarket hardened axles,
all the choices involve needing to replace the brakes (complete), good
thing is all the 8 3/4 brake parts seem to be interchangeable when done as
a complete set. Changing the axle will allow a slightly wider tire to be
installed between the axle housing and the fender well lip with out having
to use a jack between the axle and the body, it will also enable you
to find a larger assortment of wheel to use because of the less backspace
required
