The major cost with a Stroker is custom forged pistons to work with the
longer 4” crank. Another expense would be larger valves if you wanted them
in your ported heads; all other costs are about the same...of course any HP
engine upgrades will add to the total.

Yes I currently have the dual
quads. However they are on their way out. They did well for me in
race mode. With my original 264 hot street cam they were stretching the
limits. I do believe a single 4 would've been better for that cam. However
this new 284 cam is perfect! I highly recommend it if you are going for
max output. It is even more streetable with the 2x4's than the 264.
Perfect road manners.
As far as stroking goes, I
never considered it as it was just more cost I figured. I'm sure it would
bump up the output though. I bored .040" which gave me 324ci. I
think the main expense would be the crank for a stroker. Probably all
other components would be similarly priced as stock size. Depending on how
radical you go the machine work price could be a bit higher if it needs
clearancing, etc..
I am working on installing a
750 Eddy on my new EFI manifold as an interim measure. This will be a good
test to compare the 2x4 set-up with a single 4bbl on the same bottom end.
I predict it will be a little slower but maybe better mpg????

You run the dual quads Correct? How many cubes? I’m planning my rebuild and want
to find out if it is worth the extra money to build a stroker and run a single
carb.
I had a best of 9.15 in the
1/8th which would theoretically be about 14.36 in the 1/4. My previous
best on my 264 cam set-up with stock heads was 9.75. I only had 6 runs on
the new 284 cam set-up and the last 3 were with a broken tailshaft housing. I
also had not done any tuning yet as I use the runs to adjust the tune and I need
some baseline to start with. I was basically just getting my baseline
numbers when I broke. I am positive I would be capable of breaking into
the high 8's if I pursued it further. I feel I have accomplished enough of
my goals at this time. The Challenger SRT8 that I had raced turned a 9.12
so I would be right with him now. Time is an issue so I am going to work on my
next goal of turning LeRoar into a comfy cruiser and i want to hit the mid 20's
in mpg. I feel that there is more to mpg than money savings. I am also
interested in distance on a tank. I'm sure the folks in the northeast wish they
could go farther/longer on a tank of gas! It makes for a comfort zone in the
middle of the night or when out in the boonies on a Sunday.

There were some very fast candy

WHEN I was young,the 4
doors and wagons were usually faster cuz the owners OR drivers {if the
cars were owned by a parent} usually lipped off to the 2door owners
about how slow their cars were compared to the wagons an 4
doors! :-)

2. If this was

3. The fact of

You know that
it is a scientific fact that the 4 drs. are faster than the 2 dr.
