Sounds like someone re-bodied a probable MW car, took all the good MW stuff and sold you the leftovers. Your only salvation would be if you could recover the vin # off the core support or the panel between the rear window and the trunk. Those are the only two other locations that the vin # was stamped on our cars. So if it was in an accident and the core support was replaced and the rear panel is rusted out you have nothing but just another rusted 64 Fury no matter what it's heritage was. Now if their is a confirmable VIN # you will need to contact the authorities and file a stolen VIN report and when the bad guys (in some states) go to register the cloned car it more than likely will be impounded and go to you in the end, depending on what the title says. Now before you get to excited, it is illegal in Missouri to re-body a car so you have a good chance of getting the new car
especially if they find a conflicting VIN in the two locations I told you. Other states it is perfectly OK to re-body a car. So, depending how you know the people you purchased the car from someone is going to get in a lot of trouble over it, again depending on your state's laws. Bottom line I would hope they were not friends that you got the car from, or they should not be in the future!

No vin tag is a bigger problem, but then again maybe not, same with the fender tag. This is a rusty car that needs everything but part of the roof and the fender aprons. I just figure its a low number car from how its built. This is just a parts car. Its not even coming off the trailer. Thanks for the help with the numbers.

But no fender tag is a problem as well as the fact you need all the correct part numbers and date of manufacture 426W parts. Since you are apparently starting with so little, figure your cost before you get too deep into this one.
I'll give you production numbers later tonight if no one else comes through in the meantime. Akron Don Gallimore

The fury is red with a red bench seat. Manual steering and drum brakes. No heater AM radio. No front clip , fender tag, vin tag, wrong engine, and so bad rusty that after 10 years of bringing home cars my wife asked if I actually paid money for this car. I quickly changed the subject, paid 1300 for it, so I can get my money out of it, just wondering if this car is rare production wise. Seems I remeber seeing a similar Dodge that was one of five. Any thoughts? | ||
