Re: Car stalls when I hit the brakes

This  again.

It still does it.   Not vacuum booster.  It's  blocked off.  I rebuilt carb and float levels looked good.  Runs  great.

Carb had rust from tank.  I cleaned it all out and installed  fuel filter.

So,  it could  be the pump?

Could tank rust  effect a pump  so that pressure drop  causes it to stall when I hot the brakes,

It's  the  Carter  2bbl   BBD.

Tommorow  I'll take off the pump and have a look.

Thank you.

I got the 300 brakes situation worked out pretty well.

With new plugs, cap/etc, and wires the engine sounds pretty good.

On a short test drive when I hit the brakes the engine will stall.  If I come to a real easy rolling stop then it's fine.

I turned the engine idle up higher then normal out of curiosity and it still stalls.

What could this be?  Timing?  Carb needs rebuilt?

Thanks
