I just got off the phone with Bill B. and he is happy with his Poly build
in the 66 Belvedere. I helped him with a Poly recipe for his intended use
and referred him to some machine shops in his area for the Poly build. He
has a beautiful car and you can watch his U-tube video of the Poly idling as he
shows you his car and engine. Cut and pasted below are the written
comments under the video: He told me how the car really moves out from a
40mph roll onto the freeway and how his 262/.460” Cammed Poly smoked some guy in
an import...he plans to change his 2.94 gears to a set of 3.55’s which should
break the tires loose from a standing start. His 650cfm carb is probably
running a bit rich and he indicated he needs more time to tune it...has about
500miles on the fresh rebuild.

A quick video of my restored 1966 Plymouth
Belvedere II. In 2009 we pulled this out of my uncles barn where it had been
since 1979! It actually started...as long as we had gas feeding into the carb
(tank and lines were all plugged up). This has been a three year undertaking
bringing it back. Still need to install the 'dealer a/c' unit. The motor is the
original 318 (Poly). It has been bored .040 over, has 2.02/ 1.60 valves, some
porting in the heads, reground cam to .462 lift with .262 duration, a cast iron
4bbl manifold from a `62 Poly, Edelbrock 650, TTi headers, and TTi 2 1/2"
exhaust...producing a bit more power than before. HA! Thanks to Gary Pavlovich's
guidance on the motor mods, this didn't cost any more than building a newer
motor. Also thanks to my aunt and uncle for turning loose of the old girl so I
could bring her back to her former glory.

Mopar Action) Guess it could go either way, but in your case, why even mention
Gary's name. He thinks it is Gary's fault, but like you said interpretation is
up to the reader.

to interpretaation,
DJ. He opens up his tech question by saying "I should have never called
Poly guru Gary Pavlovich. Now I'm
rebuilding my 318 Poly for my '66 Belvedere". He doesn't mention Gary after that, but he
goes on to talk about a problem he has with the oil sending unit location on his
4bbl intake or something like that. I think it could be interpreted that
he's saying he shouldn't have been tempted to build a high hp Poly because now
he's in over his head in some areas and doesn't know how to proceed. Kind
of like, "I never should have looked at the dessert menu, now I'm over
stuffed". Anyway, I don't know that he's necessarily saying anything negative about Gary.
But, as I said, it's open to interpretation.

I don't know what you did to piss this guy off,
but it got you mentionede on Mopar Action(not in a nice
way)
Dec.'s
issue, pg. 92, Tech Topics. titled Hohm
Boy. Don't understand why he says what he does, you have always been helpful any
way you can, with not strings attached. I'm sure he must be referring to his 318
Poly build?
