Fw: Hemmings motor oil



The magic ingredients is ZDDP and carry's a SL rating. Rule of thumb is no less than 1200 PPM's of Zinc and at least 75% (900 PPM's) as much of Phosphorous as Zinc in a typical 4qt. + 1qt. for the filter of engine oil.
Racing use will require a higher % and remember you need to match the % to your total oil capacity when using deep pans...

A comment re: all o these Zinc enhanced oils; none seem to want to tell us “how much” Zinc/ZDDP % is in each quart; this is vital.  You will need the correct levels to prevent your cam from going flat and you need to make doubly sure if you are aggressive/racing and turn 6000rpm + with your motor.

kendall titanium 20/50 now sold at my home town auto zone is zinc enriched also and only  5 bucks a quart  thanks Kendall,,,,,

That's what I use in my 65 383 Coronet 500. VR-1 Racing also has zinc in it.
